About the Artist
Lana Potels resides in Mountain View, California. She is a fashion designer, jewelry maker, passionate about creating new and one-of-a-kind items. She launched her line of fashions after visiting Japan art and textile museums in 2016. She learned the ancient art of Kumihimo braiding, dated back to the Nara period 645-784 AD. Modern use of Kumihimo braiding allows Lana to create beautiful necklaces, bracelets, and earrings. She also designs and makes one of a kind jackets with elaborate collages, clutches and over the shoulder bags using details of antique Japanese obis. Her work has been featured at San Francisco Opera House and Asian Art Museum boutiques, Bay Area artisan and holiday art bazaars. She has her items on Etsy, with the name of shop LanasJewelryTextile.
