Mediterranean Garden
California
is in one of the five Mediterranean climate zones on earth,
along with Chile, South Africa, Australia, and the Mediterranean
itself. This new area of the Gamble Garden has been created
from some of the former Working Beds. Raised planting areas
are beneficial for these drier-climate plants, which require
good drainage. The color in the stonework, paths, and the pebble
mulch all contribute to the feeling of the Provençal
landscape.
